Nardine & Sherif
It takes a real romantic to write out 365 unique notes, split in three coloured categories. The minute Nardine & Sherif told us this story, we felt we had an obligation to tell it.
If you’ve read our posts, you’ve learned that we like to have a narrative structure to every creative video. This one needed a perfect ending to build to, so we asked if they would have card readings…and luckily they did!
It was also an honor to shoot in the country’s capital, Ottawa, especially around parliament hill. Our team had a great weekend discovering the city and meeting amazing people!
The Structure: We introduced the note story to the audience and then proceeded to reveal the actual writings. If it isn’t obvious, we color coded the titles according to the notes. We decided to keep the titling tied to the pre-shoot shots (which we framed with this intent). Meanwhile, we edited in prep shots that didn’t completely reveal their faces. The goal was to do full wedding day reveals as part of the proposal story (it would also be our transition into the ceremony). As we came to a conclusion, we included excerpts from each of their wedding day notes to each other. It couldn’t be wrapped up any better than this!
